Useful Tips
* Bear in mind that pizzerie are usually open only in the evenings.
* Restaurants generally serve lunch between 1 and 3pm and dinner
between about 8 and 10:30pm. At all other times, restaurants
are closed.
* Generally, the restaurants near Stazione Termini are to be avoided
if you want to pay reasonable prices for good-quality
food.
* Be wary of non-official taxi drivers, especially if you need to
go to the airport. Particularly in this case we have
experienced that they ask you even more than twice the
official price.
* Although in Rome there are taxi stations, it is better to call
one by phone. It is much more comfortable and has no
surcharge.
* A bus ticket is also valid for the city's subway and train services.
* Most of the historic centre of Rome is closed to normal traffic,
although tourists are permitted to drive to their hotels.
* The hotel management should provide you a pass, which allows you
to park in the centre.
